Saving the mines (part 2)
The league searched the area in the Marshes of Madness specified on the warrant that Nerrat had found, until they came across a bedraggled looking figure hiding amongst the ruins. This roguish individual had "borrowed" a couple of dwarfish supply crates from their local staging area and offered to share some of his stolen ale with the Stirlander's in the hopes of placating the,
The members of the League proceeded to interrogate the escaped mine worker, trying to find out where the skaven had come from and how they could get the mine working again. Nerrat's bloodtirsty tendencies were only held in check at the firm insistence of Vagor, Vulfthyr and Jean. Nerrat clearly had some sort of plan, but what it was he wasn't sharing. Eventually, concluding that this individual had no information of value, Sister Jean ordered that he be restrained and returned to Altdorf for trial against the request of Vagor and Vulfthyr who suggested he be left where he was. Werther heard "Little Sigmar" tell him that this was a very bad man, so he calmly walked up to the prisoner and proceeded to headbutt him into incapacity.
Sister Jean led tbe majority of the Stirlander's to report to Captain Vagner Wulfenstern whilst Vulfthyr and Vagor guarded the prisoner just outside the jail. Vulfthyr subtly passed a key to the prisoner so that he would be able to escape later, he would have freed him but feared the consequences would be dire; he then proceeded to report to Captain Wulfenstern, leaving Vagor alone with the prisoner. Vagor grinned at the prisoner and told him that the evenings events had given him a great thirst and asked if he knew of any taverns nearby. He then proceeded hence to the tavern leaving only the jail entry guards in charge of the prisoner, who promptly bolted, espacing altdorf.
Sufficing to say Captain Wulfenstern was furious! The mine was still infested with skaven, we had not only failed to help the mine master but had in fact killed him, and we had taken a prisoner (in whom he wasn't really that interested anyway) but had then let him escape! After he had shouted himself hoarse, he announced that we would be assemling at a later date where we would be firmly disciplined, GULP.
